Lun Lun and Bao Bao were shortly separated after birth, after being adopted by two different zoos in China.

The two lived apart for seven years on opposite ends of China, until one eagle-eyed zoo visitor noticed the likeness.

After finding out the pandas were related, and a viral post on Chinese social networking Weibo, the zoos agreed to arrange a visitation.

Zoo keepers report that Lun Lun and Bao Bao became friends straight away.

They were able to make up for lost time, climbing many of the zoo’s trees together.

They even enjoyed eating the same varieties of shoots and leaves.

The two pandas shared their birthday together before returning to their home zoos.

The zoos plan to keep the pandas in touch with monthly Skype calls.
